Choosing the right finish for your profile
Anodizing or powder coating? A short guide to picking the surface treatment that suits your application, environment and budget.

Choosing the right finish for your profile

Surface treatment of aluminium sections, either by anodizing or powder coating, increases the durability of the material and provides a variety of possibilities for colour and decorative design — and thus a wider range of applications.

Anodizing

Anodizing builds an integral oxide layer into the surface of the metal. It is hard-wearing, will not chip or peel, and keeps the metallic look of the aluminium. Valco anodizes up to 30 micron, which suits architectural and marine-adjacent environments.

Powder coating

Powder coating gives you colour: all RAL shades, from 60 to 120 micron, up to a length of 6750mm. We only use powder from some of the world’s leading brands, which is how we can promise up to 30 years of warranty on the finish.

And the rest

Alodining, e-coating, polishing, britedip, wet paint, brushing and fully customized finishing are all available in house. Give us a chance to manage your product from billet to final.
